I led the design direction for TORUS (formerly Hunter Shaw Fine Art), a multidisciplinary art space at 5513 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, with a dynamic year-round program of exhibitions, concerts, screenings, performances, and social engagements, both at the gallery and at off-site locations. The identity had to hold an intentionally eclectic program together without smoothing out its edges.

Torus

The mark is a torus—a three-dimensional ring—rendered in chrome and built on a golden-ratio construction. Chrome was a deliberate choice: it reflects everything around it, making the torus an open vessel rather than a fixed symbol – one that takes on the character of each release, exhibition, or event it appears on. Rather than a static logo, it behaves like an object in the collection, accumulating variations that together map the breadth of the brand's universe.

Beyond the gallery walls, TORUS collaborated with artists and designers on publications, physical music releases, apparel, and objects for TORUS EDITIONS. Each piece carried the identity into a new material, from merchandise to business cards, with the same care as the exhibitions themselves.
