Senior design work for Compass, the real-estate company that entered the industry positioned as a tech startup. I was part of the in-house design team from 2017 to 2020. The identity was contemporary and minimal: imagery sat on white or black with the white space doing the work. The NYC team I belonged to handled the tri-state area and was the office headquarters trusted with its most demanding clients, including teams from California and elsewhere who needed extra attention. Within that team, I was regularly assigned to work with high-touch clients, agents and teams who wanted a more luxurious register.

Most of the work was print, and most of which was for individual agents and teams rather than the corporate brand: listing brochures, market pieces, and campaign collateral. Restraint in the layout meant the photography did the selling, and the luxury clients got the quiet confidence they were paying for. The work occasionally extended beyond agents, including an identity for Cedar Commons, an apartment building in Dobbs Ferry, with a pattern system drawn from a famous bridge in the region.
